[Established Date] Tianjin signed a sister city agreement with Uzbekistan's Samarkand on Sept 1, 2025, marking a new milestone in China-Uzbekistan relations. The agreement strengthens ties under the framework of the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership — China's first of its kind in the new era.
[City Characteristics] Samarkand is known for its strong industrial and agricultural base, as well as its extremely rich cultural and tourism resources.
[Cooperation Fields] In recent years, Tianjin and Samarkand have deepened their collaboration through high-level exchanges, trade and investment and cultural tourism initiatives.
