【Established Date】Tianjin and Osaka Prefecture of Japan signed a letter of intent to establish exchange and cooperation relations on November 20, 2008.

【City Characteristics】Osaka Prefecture is a  key prefecture in the Kansai region of Japan, the center of the Hanshin industrial zone, and the transportation hub for the east and west of Japan. The world-famous artificial island airport, Kansai International Airport, is located in Osaka Prefecture. Its main industries include steel, machinery manufacturing, shipbuilding, chemicals, textile and papermaking. Osaka Prefecture is known as the “Water Capital" because of its many rivers and the fact that more than 10% of the total area of Osaka is covered by water.
