Jinghai district

Jinghai district, situated in the southwestern part of Tianjin, holds the distinction of being recognized as the "Gateway to Southern Tianjin". Spanning an area of 1,475.68 square kilometers, the district encompasses two subdistricts, 18 towns and townships, and has a population of 780,000.

Originally established as Dongpingshu county in 202 BC, Jinghai boasts a rich history of 2,225 years, featuring well-known historical legends such as the popular saying about Jiang Ziya's fishing and the significant military presence of the Yang family in this region.

Traversed by the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Jinghai district is celebrated as the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art" and the "Hometown of Chinese Calligraphy". Home to the Tuanbo Lake, one of Tianjin's prominent wetlands covering 60 sq km, Jinghai is aptly referred to as the "Lung of Tianjin".

Jinghai's Tuanbo New Town, endowed with abundant geothermal resources, has earned the designation as the "City of Chinese Hot Springs", contributing to the district's diverse and unique attractions.
