I. Eligibility

Applicants who are eligible for permanent residence in this category should comply with Chinese laws, be in good health, have no criminal record, and meet the following conditions:

Those without direct relatives overseas, but seeking to come to live with their direct relatives in China, who are aged 60 or above, have continuously resided in China for at least five years before the application date, and have resided in China for no less than nine months each year with stable living conditions and a residence, can apply for permanent residence through the exit and entry administration department of the public security authority.

II. Documents required

1. Valid passport and visa or residence permit.

2. A recent passport-sized color photo (2 inches) with a white or light blue background (electronic version may also be submitted).

3. Proof of no direct relatives overseas.

4. Proof of domestic relatives.

5. Certificate of permanent residence registration and ID card of the Chinese citizen whom the applicant is joining, or the valid passport and Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card of the foreigner being joined.

6. Housing lease or property ownership certificate.

7. Proof of living guarantee.

8. Certificate of no criminal record from overseas.

9. Health certificate.

10. Personal resume of the applicant (from 18 years old to the present, with continuous details of years and months).

11. Other necessary relevant supporting documents.

III. Notes

1. Documents issued abroad need authentication by the Chinese embassy or consulate and must be translated into Chinese by a registered translation company, with its seal and cross-page seal on the documents.

2. Ethnic Chinese of other nationality must strictly follow the "Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China" and related regulations for nationality review, providing relevant certification. Applicants who have not canceled their Chinese household registration should do so before applying.

3. Ethnic Chinese of other nationality must provide relevant certification if their English name is not a romanized one based on the Pinyin system.

4. The applicants in this category need to submit their application to the local public security authorities at the place where the household registration of the relevant Chinese citizen is located or at the place where the foreigner with permanent residence in China resides.
