I. List of Countries Eligible for the 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy (54 countries):
1. European Schengen Agreement Countries (25): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway.
2. Other European Countries (15): Russia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Monaco, Belarus.
3. American Countries (6): United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile.
4. Oceanian Countries (2): Australia, New Zealand.
5. Asian Countries (6): South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, UAE, Qatar.
II. Conditions for Application
Citizens of the above-mentioned countries must hold an international travel document with a validity period of no less than three months and a connecting ticket with a confirmed date and seat to a third country or region within 240 hours. This policy does not apply to foreign crew members and their accompanying family members on international ships en route.
III. Entry and Exit Ports
Visa-free transit foreign passengers can choose to enter or exit from any of the 60 designated ports open to international travel located across the 24 provinces, regions and municipalities of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hainan, and Guizhou.
IV. Stay Area and Duration
Foreign nationals must abide by Chinese laws. Eligible individuals can stay visa-free for up to 240 hours within the administrative regions. They are not allowed to exceed the permitted area or duration of stay.
- During the permitted visa-free time, you can stay only within the administrative areas of the 24 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions: Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hainan, and Guizhou.
In the provinces and municipalities of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Anhui, Hainan, and Guizhou, activities may be conducted throughout their entire administrative areas.
For the following six provinces and regions, activity areas are limited to specific cities:
Heilongjiang province: Harbin city
Shanxi province: Taiyuan and Datong cities
Jiangxi province: Nanchang and Jingdezhen cities
Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region: Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin, Wuzhou, Beihai, Fangchenggang, Qinzhou, Guigang, Yulin, Hezhou, Hechi, and Laibin (12 cities)
Sichuan province: Chengdu, Zigong, Luzhou, Deyang, Suining, Neijiang, Leshan, Yibin, Ya'an, Meishan, and Ziyang (11 cities)
Yunnan province: Kunming, Yuxi, Chuxiong, Honghe, Wenshan, Pu'er, Xishuangbanna, Dali, and Lijiang (9 cities/prefectures)
If you reside or stay outside hotels, you must register your accommodation with the local police station within 24 hours of check-in, either by yourself or the person accommodating you.
You can also complete accommodation registration through the "Online Self-Service Accommodation Registration System for Foreign Nationals" without leaving your residence.
Mobile Access: Follow the Tianjin Entry-Exit WeChat official account and navigate to "Service Processing" → "Accommodation Registration for Foreign Nationals" to fill out the required information.
PC Access: Enter the designated website address: https://crj.ga.tj.gov.cn/zsdj/index.html#/login
Foreigners who exceed the allowed area or duration, as well as those who fail to register their accommodation as required, will be handled by public security agencies at or above the county level or exit-entry border inspection authorities in accordance with the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China.
