As "China Cool" gains popularity among international travelers this summer, the northern port city of Tianjin is offering visitors a refreshing mix of natural beauty, culture and modern experiences.

In Jizhou district, foreign visitors are escaping the summer heat among mountains and villages. Argentine traveler Michael Whibley explored the landscapes near the Great Wall and stayed at a local homestay. "The environment is beautiful, and you can even see the Great Wall from the homestay," he said. For many visitors, the appeal lies not only in the cooler temperatures, but also in experiencing authentic rural life.

Meanwhile, Tianjin's cruises are bringing more international visitors into the city. South Korean tourists have explored Ancient Culture Street and the Italian Style Town, sampled local delicacies and experienced traditional culture. In the first half of 2026, Tianjin's cruise port welcomed 38 cruise calls and 86,000 inbound and outbound passengers.

The city is also making travel more convenient for international visitors, with bilingual assistance at the airport and multilingual cultural experiences at century-old Chinese medicine brands.

From mountain retreats and traditional architecture to Chinese medicine and intelligent robots, Tianjin offers international travelers a deeper way to experience China — where heritage, innovation, and everyday life come together.
