Energy and mineral equipment industry cluster in Xiqing receives national recognition

The energy and mineral equipment industry cluster in Tianjin's Xiqing district has made it onto the list of national characteristic industry clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises in 2024.

Small and medium-sized enterprise characteristic industry clusters focus on characteristic industries as the backbone, highlighting distinctive advantages and having sound governance and services. These industry clusters are small and medium-sized enterprises with strong core competitiveness.

A total of 100 industry clusters were selected nationwide, with only one cluster in Tianjin municipality making the list.

The industry cluster selected in Tianjin’s Xiqing district focuses on the characteristic advantages of energy and mineral equipment industries in Xiqing Economic Development Zone.

The cluster has brought together a group of leading private enterprises represented by Tianjin Huaning, Tianjin Victory Oilfield Equipment Manufacturing and Origin Design, as well as well-known multinational companies – Schlumberger from the United States, Eickhoff from Germany and Rulmeca from Italy. Production covers coal and oil mining equipment, mining hydraulic transmission and control systems, and electrical automation control devices.

A total of 71 national-level high-tech enterprises, 10 national-level specialized and new "little giant" enterprises, 26 Tianjin specialized and new small and medium-sized enterprises, and 41 innovative small and medium-sized enterprises have been cultivated.

By 2023, the total industrial output value exceeded 13.5 billion yuan ($1.93 billion), with an average annual growth rate of nearly 15 percent in the past three years. It has become an important engine driving the development of new productive forces in Xiqing district.

Going forward, Xiqing district intends to promote the local industrial upgrading to high-end, intelligent, and green, facilitating the development of local industrial clusters.
