Wuqing district in Tianjin and Kalininsky district of St. Petersburg, Russia, signed a friendly city relations agreement on Oct 28, marking a new step in strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Under the newly inked pact, the districts will promote collaboration in trade and investment, culture and the arts, healthcare, education, talent development, and sports. Both sides will also maintain regular communication and encourage mutual visits by government and business delegations.

The partnership builds on growing ties established in 2024, when the two districts signed a letter of intent to develop a cooperative relationship. Since then, they have explored opportunities in investment, industrial cooperation, technology, and talent exchanges. Wuqing's Russia Building has also opened, with 11 Russian business projects established there.

During their visit, the Russian delegation toured several sites in Wuqing, including the Russia Building, Yinghua Academy of Tianjin, V1 Auto World, and Florentia Village, gaining insights into the district's industrial development, business environment and cultural tourism.

The agreement is expected to provide a stronger foundation for practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two districts.
