Roger Goodman, a member of the Washington State House of Representatives, called for greater China-US cooperation on AI governance during the 2026 Legislators Forum for Friendly Exchanges in Tianjin on Oct 13.

Noting both the benefits and risks of AI, he said the two countries should work together rather than race for economic dominance in the field.
