Forty-seven students and teachers from Egypt's Ain Shams University recently visited Tianjin for a two-week study camp designed to strengthen vocational education cooperation between China and Egypt.
The second Egyptian university student study camp under the Luban Workshop program was jointly organized by Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, Tianjin Transportation Technical College, and Ain Shams University.
Participants received hands-on training in emerging technologies, including energy storage battery production, photovoltaic module manufacturing, AI-powered visual perception, and intelligent production lines. They also visited local companies in Tianjin's Jinnan district to learn about advances in new energy and intelligent manufacturing.
Beyond technical training, the program offered cultural activities such as exploring Tang poetry, making traditional thread-bound books, and practicing Chinese martial arts. Students also visited a Luban Workshop exhibition center to learn about the program's achievements and exchange experiences.
Li Yong, an Ain Shams University student studying mechanical manufacturing and design engineering at a Luban Workshop in Egypt, said the experience strengthened his determination to study in China. He has successfully applied to continue his studies in mechanical manufacturing and automation at Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College.
After the camp, some participants plan to pursue further education in China, while others may seek employment at Chinese-invested enterprises in Egypt.
The initiative highlights the Luban Workshop's role in developing skilled talent, promoting technological exchange, and deepening educational ties between the two countries.
