A special event showcasing the achievements of the China-SCO Digital Economy Cooperation Platform was held on Sept 15 during the 2026 SCO Digital Economy Forum, highlighting Tianjin's growing role as a hub for digital cooperation among SCO countries.
Established in Tianjin in September 2025, the platform has focused on digital industry cooperation, connectivity of data infrastructure, mutual recognition of digital standards and protocols, and digital talent development. Over the past year, it has facilitated 29 cross-border cooperation projects, while 70 high-quality digital economy projects have been established in its pilot zone, covering fields such as computing infrastructure, digital trade and commercial aerospace.
With Tianjin's strong industrial base, technological capabilities and policy support, the platform is building a practical base for digital cooperation with SCO countries. It brings together resources in areas such as smart computing, digital trade and commercial aerospace, while promoting digital transformation in agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and other traditional industries.
New initiatives and cooperation agreements unveiled at the event covered AI infrastructure, multilingual smart logistics, geospatial intelligence, and cross-border digital healthcare, demonstrating how digital technologies can transform cooperation into real-world applications.
By combining an open cooperation platform with strong industrial and technological capabilities, Tianjin is building a lasting bridge connecting China with SCO countries in the digital era.
