Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei foreign trade hits record high in first seven months

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region recorded its highest foreign trade value on record for the January-July period, highlighting the region's strong trade growth in 2026.

According to Tianjin Customs, the region's total imports and exports reached 3.05 trillion yuan ($452.29 billion) in the first seven months, up 15.6 percent year-on-year. Exports rose 12 percent to 909.56 billion yuan, while imports jumped 17.2 percent to 2.14 trillion yuan. Since April, monthly foreign trade has remained above 450 billion yuan for four consecutive months.

State-owned enterprises accounted for 53.6 percent of the region's total trade, with their imports and exports growing 18 percent. Trade by private enterprises grew even faster, rising 22.5 percent to 845.87 billion yuan.

General trade remained the backbone, accounting for 72 percent of total trade, while bonded logistics surged 61.4 percent, reaching 434.95 billion yuan.

Exports of mechanical and electrical products climbed 17.6 percent to 539.67 billion yuan, accounting for nearly 60 percent of total exports. Exports of electronic components, automobiles and electrical equipment grew 62.2 percent, 34.5 percent and 66.2 percent, respectively.

On the import side, bulk commodities reached 917.94 billion yuan, up 4.1 percent, providing solid support for the region's stable trade growth.
