A nine-day international training program in Tianjin has offered women from around the world a closer look at how digital technology can empower development and bring new life to cultural heritage.

The International Women's Training Program on Digital Technology Empowerment and Innovative Communication of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage brought together more than 30 female participants from nine countries, including Barbados, Cambodia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Turkiye.

Combining classroom learning with field visits, the program covered topics such as digital economy, digital marketing, women's entrepreneurship, cultural industries, and intangible cultural heritage protection.

Participants visited Tianjin's cultural landmarks, including Ancient Culture Street, Tianjin Museum, and Prince Qing's Mansion, experiencing traditional crafts and the city's rich history.

They also explored how technology is transforming modern development by visiting Tianjin Port's smart zero-carbon terminal, the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city, and the Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park, witnessing the integration of digital solutions with industry and urban governance.

Through hands-on experiences such as traditional handicraft workshops and cultural activities, participants gained insights into how heritage can be preserved while embracing innovation.

The program aims to build bridges among women worldwide by sharing China's experiences in digital empowerment and cultural preservation. Many participants said they hope to bring these ideas back home and promote new opportunities for women's development and cultural exchange.
