Bakhtiyar Mukhametkaliyev, vice-minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expressed hopes for deeper cooperation with China in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure during the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Intelligence Expo in Tianjin on May 28.
Speaking at the event, Bakhtiyar thanked the organizers for providing an international platform where countries can gather to explore the latest achievements in global intelligent technology.
He highlighted Kazakhstan's recent progress in smart manufacturing and digital development, noting that the country is advancing a range of digital projects and expanding international cooperation. Kazakhstan has also attracted digital talent and technology companies from around the world through initiatives such as digital visas and one-stop services for foreign professionals.
Bakhtiyar said Kazakhstan has designated 2026 as the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence and has set up a special exhibition area at the expo to showcase the country's commitment to building a safer and more sustainable future through technology.
Describing Tianjin as a city of intelligence, he said he was pleased to see countries working together to overcome barriers to digital development and create a more secure and innovative future.
