A vibrant youth exchange concert celebrating the China-Brazil Cultural Year recently took place at the Tianjin Conservatory of Music, bringing together young musicians from both countries in a shared celebration of culture and friendship.

The event featured the Copacabana Fortress Orchestra from Brazil, a public welfare youth ensemble composed of 25 students aged 13 to 25 from public schools. Dedicated to promoting cultural exchange, the group has become a symbol of China-Brazil youth friendship.

Open to the public as part of the campus open day series, the concert attracted both local residents and international students, creating a lively cross-cultural atmosphere.

It opened with energetic Brazilian pieces, showcasing the rhythm and vitality of samba. The orchestra then surprised the audience with Chinese classics like Jasmine Flower, earning enthusiastic applause.

Students from the conservatory presented innovative interpretations of traditional Chinese music, including an erhu adaptation of Horse Racing, alongside modern compositions that highlighted the school's strength in contemporary music education.

In a touching finale, young performers from both countries joined together to sing songs such as I Love You, China, capturing the spirit of connection through music.

Beyond the stage, Brazilian musicians explored campus cultural spaces and expressed gratitude for the support and hospitality they received, further deepening their bonds of friendship through music.
