The 10th World Junior Wushu Championships opened on March 25 in Tianjin, marking a major milestone for the global martial arts community. As the largest youth wushu event in the world, this year's competition has attracted 1,179 athletes from 78 countries and regions.

Organized by the International Wushu Federation, the championship is being held on the Chinese mainland for the first time since its inception.

The event features two main disciplines — taolu (routines competition) and sanda (Chinese kickboxing) — across three age groups: children, juniors, and youths. Running through March 30, the tournament will award a total of 83 gold medals.

Tianjin, known as one of the birthplaces of modern sports in China, has a rich martial arts tradition. In recent years, the city has made steady progress in promoting high-quality sports development, achieving notable results in competitive sports while expanding public fitness programs and strengthening its sports industry.
