Tianjin and Austria strengthen cooperation

Luan Jianzhang, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government, met with Austrian ambassador to China, Wolf Dietrich Heim, on Nov 14, to discuss deepening exchanges and advancing practical cooperation.

Director Luan noted the long-standing ties between Tianjin and Austria. In recent years, cooperation has expanded in education, scientific research, environmental science, and green architecture. He emphasized Tianjin's role as one of China's earliest coastal open cities and a key growth hub in northern China.

Looking ahead to the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Austria in 2026, Luan expressed Tianjin's readiness to work closely with the Austrian embassy to explore new opportunities in green energy, cultural tourism, and music exchanges, bringing new vitality to the bilateral strategic partnership.

Ambassador Heim thanked Tianjin for its hospitality and praised the city's unique strengths and dynamic development. He highlighted Austria's commitment to enhancing cooperation in renewable energy and other sectors, noting that his visit deepened understanding of Tianjin.
