Tianjin releases 2024 top 100 private enterprises report

Tianjin published the 14th report on the healthy development of the city's private economy on Nov 12, showcasing the strength of local enterprises.

The threshold for entry into the top 100 private companies by revenue in 2024 rose to 4.6 billion yuan ($648.19 million), up 1.6 billion from 2023. The total revenue of the 100 private companies reached 1.57 trillion yuan, marking the third consecutive year above 1.5 trillion yuan.

Three firms' revenue surpassed the 100 billion yuan mark: New Tianjin Steel Group exceeded 150 billion yuan for the third year running, while Rockcheck Group and Cloud Account Technology (Tianjin) Co achieved 130 billion yuan and 120 billion yuan respectively. In total, 44 companies earned over 10 billion yuan, contributing 77.7 percent of the list's total revenue, while 86 surpassed 5 billion yuan, accounting for 95.7 percent.

Tax contributions also rose sharply. The top 100 taxpayers paid 29.97 billion yuan, up 9.08 billion year‑on‑year. Service industries dominated, with 80 firms contributing 27.23 billion yuan.

Innovation remains a highlight. The top 100 innovation enterprises reported 6,828 achievements, including 3,507 intellectual property rights, a net increase of 574. R&D focused on IT services, specialized equipment, and electrical machinery, underscoring Tianjin's vitality in information technology application innovation industry and advanced manufacturing.

Among the city's various regions, Binhai New Area led with 64 firms in the revenue top 100, contributing 972.4 billion yuan, or 61.8 percent of the total.
