The 2024 Tianjin Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival was recently held in Tianjin's Xiqing district.
Traditional wushu arts, singing performances, laser shows, datiehua (or strike iron flower) and many other exciting folk performances were presented at the event.
Performers from the Mongolian ethnic group sang folk songs that enabled the audience to immerse themselves in the music and to imagine and feel the vastness and openness of the Inner Mongolian grass land.

Traditional Chinese songs like Qinghuaci as well as performances on instruments such as the pipa (four-stringed Chinese lute), guzheng (Chinese zither), and morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) delighted visitors with their emotional lyrics and unique Chinese cultural charm.
In addition, the Tianjin Huo Yuanjia School interpreted "Jingwu Spirit" through wushu (Chinese martial arts) and traditional comic actors narrated stories of "Jingwu Heroes" in their performances.
Folk dances
Nearly half the performers at the event were ethnic minority actors. Their splendid work enriched the experience of visitors and promoted cultural exchange and mutual learning among different ethnic groups.
