2024-11-13

Tianjin University of Technology and Education (TUTE) has held an inaugural ceremony unveiling the Center for World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference Research and Promotion. This is a follow-up to the World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, which takes place once every two years, with the second edition scheduled from Nov 20 to 22.

The center, led by TUTE, is designed to accelerate the application of conference outcomes, integrating key educational achievements into disciplines like mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence, and more. These findings are being compiled into specialized publications to serve as supplemental teaching materials for vocational schools and colleges.

The center has also appointed academic leaders from several prominent universities, including Nankai University and Beijing Normal University, to assess the applicability of various innovation results for industrial use, aiming to swiftly introduce them to enterprises and foster direct industry-academia collaboration.

Additionally, TUTE has announced the launch of the Global Think Tank for Development of Vocational and Technical Education, which will publish an international journal and act as a collaborative platform for experts worldwide in vocational education. The think tank's digital platform is now operational, with an initial panel of 55 experts from sectors such as government departments, leading universities, industry, training organizations, and research institutes.

During the event, Mi Jing, head of TUTE's School of Vocational Education, and Li Shujing, head of the FLTRP Vocational Education Publishing, signed a collaborative agreement to co-edit World Vocational and Technical Education, an international journal dedicated to advancing research and cooperation in vocational and technical education worldwide.

This newly established platform is set to enhance global collaboration in vocational education, providing an environment where experts can share knowledge, foster innovation, and collectively address the evolving needs of the vocational sector across diverse international markets.
