Tianjin holds conference on China-Uzbekistan higher education cooperation

The China-Uzbekistan Cooperation and Exchange Conference on Higher Education was held at the Tiankai Higher Education Science and Technology Innovation Park in Tianjin on Jan 23. Presidents of Tianjin universities and their Uzbek counterparts gathered to foster pragmatic collaboration in Sino-Uzbek education.

During the conference, a total of 41 cooperation agreements were signed between Chinese and Uzbek universities. Leveraging the strengths of their respective majors, the universities from both countries looked to continually expand educational cooperation through talent cultivation, scientific research and exchange programs, ushering in a new chapter of partnership.

The event also showcased the historical landmarks, traditional cuisine, industrial foundation and growth of the manufacturing sector in Tianjin. Through educational openness, the conference aimed to promote Tianjin's cultural and tourism industries and attract more foreign enterprises to invest in the city.

During their stay in Tianjin, the university presidents visited Tiankai Higher Education Science and Technology Innovation Park's technology achievements exhibition, as well as the Drum Tower Museum and Beijiang Museum. Additionally, they explored Tianjin Ancient Cultural Street, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Tianjin Normal University, Tiangong University and Tianjin University of Technology.

Through their tours, the presidents learned about Tianjin's urban and cultural development, had firsthand experiences of the traditional folk cultural characteristics and national-level intangible cultural heritage in the city, and gained in-depth insight into the distinctive features and academic strengths of higher education in Tianjin.
