Twenty-one teachers and students from Russia recently completed a week-long training program on marine engineering robotics at Tianjin Maritime College, combining Chinese language learning with vocational skills training.

Focusing on smart manufacturing and high-end marine equipment, the program offered participants hands-on experience with China's modern vocational education system. They visited navigation simulator labs, marine engineering equipment training facilities, and water-based training centers, gaining insights into maritime education and industry applications.

A highlight was their close-up experience with underwater robots used in marine engineering, where participants learned about operating principles and programming logic before completing practical exercises in a simulated environment. The college's Marine Intelligent Robotics Application Technology program was added to China's national vocational education program directory in July, reflecting its focus on supporting the deep-sea technology sector.

The group also visited a smart zero-carbon terminal at Tianjin Port, the National Maritime Museum, and a high-end intelligent equipment manufacturer, with Chinese and Russian teachers exchanging views on curriculum development and innovative training models.

Beyond professional training, participants learned practical Chinese and tried traditional paper-cutting. Singing the classic Russian song Katyusha at the closing ceremony, they expressed their appreciation for this warm and fruitful exchange.
