The “International Friends in Tianjin” Chinese New Year Celebration Event was held at Tianjin’s Chaoyang Community on Feb 9, Chinese New Year's Eve.

During a dumpling making session, they joined local volunteers in mixing the filling, kneading the dough and rolling out the wraps, enjoying themselves immensely in the teamwork.
The atmosphere was lively, with performances featuring songs like Ode to Pear Flowers and Tianjin-style kuaiban, a traditional Chinese talk show with rhythmic bamboo clappers.
The performances, which gave participants an opportunity to appreciate the cultural charm of the Chinese New Year and the open, inclusive and innovative atmosphere of Tianjin, received enthusiastic applause.

Volunteers also showcased the intricate art of paper-cutting, Chinese knots, sugar painting, candied fruits, eggshell painting and large dragon stamps, captivating visitors’ admiration as they experienced the craftsmanship.
The event, hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People's Government, Tianjin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Tianjin Heping District People's Government, exemplified the city's ongoing efforts to deepen Chinese-style modernization and enhance its outreach to the international community.
Attending the celebration were government officials, community volunteers, representatives from foreign-funded enterprises and foreign institutions in Tianjin, experts and international students, totaling more than 80 participants.
