Overview

Tianjin's integrated circuit (IC) industry is expanding rapidly, with more than 140 enterprises and an annual output value exceeding 62.6 billion yuan ($8.93 billion).

The city has built a complete ecosystem covering design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, equipment, and materials, achieving strong double‑digit growth across key indicators.

Development advantages

Industry development is powered by leading companies such as Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation Tianjin factory, a major 8‑inch wafer producer; Phytium and Hygon, two of China's most important CPU makers; and top equipment and materials firms including Zhonghuan Advanced.

Tianjin continues to strengthen its policy support and innovation platforms, while local universities provide a solid talent pipeline in microelectronics and engineering.

A coordinated industrial layout — driven by Binhai New Area and Xiqing district, with Jinnan district offering support — has created a synergistic development pattern that enhances clustering and accelerates high‑quality growth.
