A trade and economic delegation from Tianjin Binhai New Area conducted a visit to Singapore from Nov 7 to 10 to explore key enterprises and financial institutions and attract Singaporean businesses to invest in the area.
The Tianjin Binhai New Area-Singapore Economic and Trade cooperation Conference was organized to delve into the outstanding investment environment and extensive development prospects of Binhai.
During the conference, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City signed cooperation agreements with ICBC Singapore Branch, Singapore Yuanqi Technology, and NK Education Group. These agreements mark significant steps toward strengthening collaboration and enhancing economic ties.
The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Singapore branch became the first and only RMB clearing bank in Singapore in 2013. Following the agreement, it will leverage its business and channel advantages to facilitate trade and investment between the Eco-City and Singaporean enterprises, promoting economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China and Singapore.
Yuanqi Technology, headquartered in Singapore, is a technology venture capital company with operations in countries such as Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia. According to the agreement, the company plans to establish its Chinese headquarters in the Eco-City, expanding into the Chinese market, investing in domestic technology projects, and guiding enterprises to settle in the Eco-City.
The Eco-City has also signed an agreement with NK Education Group which intends to establish a research and operations center that is primarily engaged in technical research and development, event organization, and international exchanges.
Other functional areas in Binhai also yielded fruitful agreements at the meeting. The Bonded Zone has signed a cooperation agreement with the US-based ADM company. The Dongjiang Free Trade Port Area has signed to cooperate with BOC Aviation. Tianjin Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Singapore's KK Women's and Children's Hospital.
