The Tianjin International Port Economic Cooperation Center has officially opened, aiming to strengthen China's trade and industrial ties with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.
Designed as a full-chain service platform, the center integrates customs, logistics, and port operations to streamline cross-border trade and foster deeper regional collaboration.
Customs supervision is central to the center's operations, offering tailored support for clearance procedures, logistics planning, and port coordination.
A notable feature is the country-specific service halls. The Kazakhstan port service hall is already operational, utilizing China's single-window customs system and local coordination mechanisms to provide end-to-end export support for Kazakh enterprises. This has significantly shortened clearance times and resolved key challenges in declaration and inspection.
Additional service halls for Russia and Cambodia have been planned, expanding the center's reach across SCO member states and Belt and Road countries.
Initial results are promising: Five new enterprises have joined, three major cooperation projects have been launched, and multiple shipments have benefited from expedited customs review.
The center also implements green channels for agricultural and food products, aligning with national inspection and quarantine facilitation policies. These efforts are creating a more efficient logistics corridor and injecting fresh momentum into China-SCO economic cooperation.
