Spanning 15.7 hectares, the farm will include advanced greenhouses, trial cultivation zones, and common facilities designed to support collaborative scientific and technological work. The initiative seeks to promote partnerships between researchers, agricultural producers, and university students from China and Chile.
In his remarks, Niu noted that the project will harness the complementary strengths of both countries to build a platform for agricultural technology demonstration and innovation, injecting new vitality into bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
He expressed a hope that the project would deliver visible results in high-quality seed cultivation, technology transfer, and capacity building, and serve as a model of high-level South-South cooperation in agriculture.
Chilean representatives, including Valenzuela, praised the project's potential to elevate China-Chile agricultural cooperation to a new level—one characterized by greater added value and deeper integration of industry, academia, and research.
They also commended China's broader initiative to build shared development projects with Latin America, including those in the fields of agriculture and food security.
